well ive got a v8 on 6 cyl ,ive got a lexus for a bit of work ,ime gonna change all the chrome bits for new on the cortina ,timeing chain on the mk2 tina ,also moveing storage sites gonna be alot cheaper paying £200 a month at the mo ,wen all sorted it will be £100 ,so ive got alot of sorting out and vehicles to move , ive got an ignition fail from the key to the coil on the v8 ,means ive got to remove the ignition lock and rewire ,ive also found the corse of the miss fire ,so a few days work ahead ,

I think some of these have a resistor wire instead of a ballast resistor, are you runnning caveman points?

get your multimeter out, I might have a ballast resistor if you need one, better still go electronic Idea If you have 12 volts at positive side of coil while engine running you need to knock it down to 9 ish otherwise things will burn out affraid

going electronic is going to be differcult ,being a 302 aussie , but i have no volts at the coil ,traced wire back to key swich ,12volts going in not out ,got 12v going to starter motor ,bypassed it for now
