My new Ford :-)
I popped out to the Clacton car show today, It was a really good turnout with plenty of nice cars to oggle over, anyway i saw this mint looking Mk3 Escort in the distance that was for sale, I worked my way over there to take a few photo, This Escort had no price, just this sign saying offers accepted, So i started chatting to he owner, I asked how mach it was, "I'm hoping to get about £500 for it" he said!, I didn't even bother haggling!, I just bought it there and then
It's a 1984 Escort 1.3 L with only 43000 miles on the clock, Never been welded, it is as clean as a whisle, Comes from Candor Motors in Colchester from new, the same garage my dad used to buy his cars from!, It's got the CVH engine with the 4 Spd gear box, it's so quiet, no rattles and knocks at all, MOT until October and taxed until the end of September.
Sadly this means my 1988 Escort 1.6 GL will have to go which i am gutted about it is such a nice car but i can't afford to have two of them about, I'll do an advert for it at some point.
This is as i saw it at the show, I hope to remove the tow bar, These are taken back at home tonight, Sorry about the photo overkill!

Re: My new Ford :-)
At the weekends i attacked the grey wheels on my Escort, The last owner had them repainted but it wasn't excatly silver and I hated them, so I took them off and had the fun job of rubbing them down ready for paint.
I removed the weights from the wheels as I planned on getting them balanced tomorrow due to the steering shake at 70mph.
I had a few issues with the new silver paint reacting with the old paint but they look much better, I'll give them a quick polish tomorrow, and even more of a result I took the car on a drive once I finished, got the car up to 80mph and the shaking has gone and even stranger the steering wheel now sits straight!, Result!.
Have a couple of complementary photos to celebrate.

Re: My new Ford :-)
It is lovely but i'm a bit gutted about making it live outside, I now having bad thoughts of selling the Kadett and keeping this as my classic as it's cheaper and easier to maintain.
I've got Billing next month so I'll see if i get offered any good prices for the Kadett and go from there i think.

Re: My new Ford :-)
Some random water works i found near Bucklesham up a little lane, there was a sewage works next to it and a sharp hump back bridge if that helps.
Re: My new Ford :-)

Thats the one! this is on the corner, the boarded up buildings make for a good photographic background i thought.

Word of warning though you will get all the stupid twats come along at shows with the Dagenham dustbin jokes Don't even think they were made there.
These mk3's are now knocking on towards 30 years old but you still get the mumbles "whats that doing here its not a classic" Got it a few times with my 16i.
I think its a little gem that.
